BEVERLEY FOOD FESTIVAL

SUNDAY 3rd OCTOBER 2010

Market Place, Beverley

9am - 4.30pm.

  The Beverley Food Festival returns for a fifth year with over 60 stalls selling a variety of local produce, the cookery theatre marquee, charity BBQ for Marie Curie Cancer Relief and Beverley CLB, competitions and much more.

09:30 - Official Opening - Welcome to the fifth Beverley Food Festival - with a special guest from BBC Look North and the Mayor of Beverley, Town Councillor Bessie Foot.

09:40 - Cookery Demonstration 1 - Well-known local chef, Tina Cerutti, prospector of Cerutti ‘2’ in Beverley, starts the day by preparing a fabulous fish dish.

10:20 - Cookery Demonstration 2 - John Robinson, Chef Patron of Whites in Beverley, shows his culinary credentials.

11:00 - Food Floristry - Mark Gillian and David Powell will inspire you with table decorations for special occasions.

11:30 - Cookery Demonstration 3 - Chef proprietor of Beverley’s Dine on the Rowe, Jason Rowe, conjures kitchen magic.

12:00 - Ready, Steady, Cook! - This year guests from BBC Look North and Radio Humberside have yet to be confirmed, but we do know that they will be joined by local chefs, James MacKenzie (Pipe and Glass Inn, North Dalton) and James Allcock (Hull Truck Theatre), who will advise on and supervise the dishes created from ingredients donated by stall holders present at the festival.  The competition will be judged by Town Clerk Helen Watson from Beverley Town Council and Food and Beverage Executive David Nowell from Tickton Grange.  Be sure to get your seat early as this event always proves popular!

13:10 - Apprentice Chef of the Year 2010 Finalists - Jamie Parker (Pipe ad Glass Inn) and Roger Nowell (Tickton Grange) show us why they are two of the hottest young chefs in the area.

14:00 - Cookery Demonstration 4 - Ben Cox, Chef Patron of the Star @ Sancton demonstrates his passion for all things local.

14:40 - Beverley Food Festival Amature Chef 2010  -  The grand final, in association the The Journal, will see the two finalist cook their dishes on stage for a $50 cash prize and a day in Ben Cox’s kitchen in the Star @ Sancton.  Judged by Town Councillor Matt Snowden, Beverley Food Festival Chairman, and Ben Cox.

15:20 - Cookery Demonstration 5 - Thierry Condette, Chef Patisserie at T. C. Patisserie in Beverley, gives us food for thought with his fine pastries.

16:00 - Conclusion - Festival Chairman, Councillor Matt Snowden, concludes the Beverley Food Festival 2010 with closing remarks, acknowledgments and the results of the free prize draw.
