The town of Beverley is split into four Wards, each having 3 or 4 Ward Town Councillors. The Councillors for the Wards are as follows:

Brian is a respected landlord and business man who has been based in Beverley for many years. He is a founder member of the Pubwatch scheme, which brings pubs in the town together to combat under-age drinking and anti-social behaviour, alongside monitoring new licencing hours. He is involved with several local charities, community safey projects and has recently joined the Beverley Renaissance Partnership to represent licencees and public houses, which Brian believes play an important part in terms of local economy. He is proud to be a new member of the Town Council.

Matt is Beverley born and bred and his family have lived in the town for generations. He currently enjoys working at Longcroft School as Community Liaison and Educational Visits Coordinator and has previously worked for local charities and community organisations. Alongside other voluntary commitments, he is a trustee for the Rev Graves Trust managed by Beverley Minster. Matt was the town's youngest ever Mayor in 2006-2007. He is also the founder and Chairman of the Beverley Food Festival. Educated at Longcroft School and the University of Sunderland , his interests include reading, writing, folklore and cultural history.

Ken is a true Beverlonian and has lived on Cherry Tree Estate for all his life. Before retiring, he worked as a painter and decorator for Beverley Borough and Humberside County Council. He is currently a member of the Cherry Tree Community Association Management Committee and is the longstanding charman of the Cherry Tree Residents. For a number of years Ken has also played an active role in local pensioners rights groups and was a representative to the ERYC Tenants Forum. He lives with his wife and has a large family... sooner or later, if you've lived in Beverley long enough, you discover your related to a Thorley!

Sue is a native of West Yorkshire, educated in Leeds (including Teacher Training). She was a primary school teacher in Leeds and the East Riding and now enjoys living in Beverley. Her voluntary work has included the Samaritans, Beverley Contact Mothers Group, Humberside PHAB and now driving for Beverley Community Lift. She is a member of the Beverley Friends of the Earth and has run an ethical market stall for them. She is a joint organiser of the Beverley Green Fair, held in May 2007, and plans are already underway for a further event in April 2008.

Simon has spent the past twenty years working in the community and voluntary sector. His jobs have included providing employment advice to young people, educating prisoners, running youth groups and developing community based services. Since 1998 Simon has worked as a welfare rights advisor for the Cherry Tree Community and Residents Associations, assisting residents with issues relating to benefit entitlement, housing matters and debt counselling. As a keen follower of sports, Simon enjoys football, horse racing and cricket. His additional interests include history, reading, socialising and politics.

Jim was born in 1946 in County Durham and moved to Beverley in 1978 to teach at the Grammar School. He became involved with local issues and was elected to the old Beverley Borough Council in 1991, served on East Riding of Yorkshire Council from 1997until 2003 and was elected Mayor of the Town Council in May 2003 and again in 2007. Throughout this time he has served as a governor at various schools and is a member of the War Memorial Hall trustees. A long-time member of the East Hull Harriers, his best marathon time is 2hrs 53mins! Jim is also chairman of Beverley Community Lift, a keen cyclist and passionate environmental campaigner.
