Join the Mayor at Pink Party Fundraiser
The Mayor of Beverley, Cllr Linda Johnson, is raising much-needed funds for HER Breast Friends with a party at Beverley’s Memorial Hall on Saturday, April 2nd. The evening features Paragon Porkers Pink Pig Racing, Bra Pink-Pong, a raffle and spot prizes and is compered by Beverley FM’s Alex Dunn, who will also provide the soundtrack to the evening for dancing. With a glass of pink fizz on arrival, chicken (or vegan alternative) and chips for supper (sponsored by El Pollo) and pink donuts for sweet (sponsored by Morrisons), party-goers are invited to wear pink – or be ‘fined’!
Linda is being assisted by neighbour Nicola Tekce in the organisation of the party. Nicola was keen to help HER Breast Friends, as she has been personally supported by the charity. Fund-raising opportunities over the last 2 years have been few and far between and their coffers need boosting, so more women who have breast cancer can be helped. Nicola has designed the eye-catching posters which you can see around town!
Companies or organisations are invited to sponsor one or more of the 6 races at a cost of £30 per race. Sponsors should contact Nicola at admin@chamasgroup.co.uk in the first instance, sending a pdf of their logo which will be displayed at the venue, and mentioned by the compere throughout the evening. There are 8 pigs in each race which can be named at a cost of £5 each. Those who wish to name a pig should also contact Nicola.
There will be a cash Tote on the evening so you can place your bets!
Tickets, which are just £15 each, are available from generalenquiries@herbreastfriends.org.uk, telephone 01482 221368, or in person at Chamas in Wednesday Market. They can also be booked through admin@chamasgroup.co.uk. Cash purchases are preferred, or cheques should be made payable to HER Breast Friends.
Donations for the raffle are very welcome and can be dropped off at Chamas, labelled for the attention of Nicola Tekce ‘Party in Pink’.
Doors open at 6.30pm on Saturday April 2nd with the first race at 7pm. Party-goers should be prepared for a fun evening, with some special surprises, raising money for a very worthwhile cause!
