Whilst Beverley Town Council is funding the race and providing barriers, the key organiser is The Rotary Club of Beverley.  The aim of the event is to raise money for local charities and bring townsfolk and businesses together to celebrate an old custom.

The Mayor of Beverley Councillor David Boynton said: “We are very proud to support this wonderful community event.  It’s just what the town needs to cheer everyone up as we come out of Winter and move toward Spring.  Thank you to the Beverley Rotary Club for making this happen, and good luck to everyone taking part!”

All those involved hope the race will be a lot of fun for both spectators and competitors, with residents invited to join the teams on Toll Gavel to attend what promises to be a memorable event.

Further information and team entry forms be obtained by emailing rcbsecretary1@gmail.com or calling 07572 473921. Paper copies of the application form can be collected from The Dog & Duck, Ladygate.
