Beverley Town Council has gained a great reputation for organising a wide range of events over the years, from one off town centre events such as the 60th Anniversary of V.E. Day and the Queen’s Jubilee, to the award-winning and hugely popular Beverley Food Festival in the Market Place and Christmas Festival of Food and Drink in Beverley Minster. It also runs annual community events, such as the Great Get Together and Big Beverley Pancake Race.
Unfortunately, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, all event in 2020 have been cancelled and plans for 2021 will be developed depending on how this issues develops. If it is able to, the Town Council is hoping to organise a major Pride event next year and bring back the Food Festival – this website will include more information when it is available.
The Town Council also works in partnership with other groups, such as Beverley in Bloom, and leads on projects that provide Christmas Lighting, tidy up the town via Brighter Beverley and the Beverley Hanseatic League that is in development.
Once again, many of these activities have either been put on hold or reduced in scope and scale due to the pandemic, but all the many local people who volunteer as part of these and other groups are looking at alternative ways for these projects to continue and look forward to eventually getting fully back into action when the time is right.
